Account Dossier Builder

Compile a structured account dossier covering firmographics, technology footprint, and buying triggers for a target company from web research, and save it as a single reference file.

When to use

  • A sales or GTM (go-to-market) workflow hands you a target company name or domain and needs a research brief before outreach.
  • An outbound campaign needs fresh company-level context (recent funding, hiring, product launches) before personalizing a pitch.
  • A human or another agent requests a pre-call or pre-demo briefing document on a specific account.

Tools

  • browser-search: run searches to locate the company's site, news, and third-party profiles (firmographic databases, review sites, news outlets).
  • browser-navigate: open the company's website, news articles, job boards, and other pages surfaced by search.
  • browser-extract: pull structured text (company size, industry, headquarters, tech mentions, recent announcements) from each opened page.
  • write-file: save the compiled dossier as a single markdown file.

Playbook

  1. Confirm the target company name and, if given, its domain; note any specific angle requested (e.g. focus on tech stack or recent triggers).
  2. Use browser-search to find the company's official site, LinkedIn or crunchbase-style profile, and recent news coverage.
  3. Use browser-navigate to open the official site's About/Team/Careers pages to gather firmographics (headcount, industry, HQ location, founding year).
  4. Use browser-extract on each page to capture firmographic details in structured form.
  5. Use browser-search again for technology signals (e.g. " tech stack", " uses Salesforce") and browser-navigate + browser-extract on job postings or engineering blog pages that reveal tools in use.
  6. Use browser-search for buying triggers: recent funding rounds, leadership changes, product launches, expansion news, or public complaints; browser-navigate and browser-extract the most relevant articles.
  7. Cross-check any conflicting facts (e.g. differing headcount numbers) by revisiting the most authoritative source found so far.
  8. Assemble the findings into a single dossier with clear sections: Firmographics, Technology, Recent Triggers, Sources, and save it with write-file.
  9. Summarize the dossier's key findings and the saved file location when completing the task.

Failure modes

  • Search or page returns 401/403 (unauthorized/forbidden) or a paywall: skip that source, note it as inaccessible in the dossier, and continue with other sources.
  • browser-extract returns empty or irrelevant content: verify the page fully loaded via browser-navigate first, then retry extraction or fall back to browser-search for an alternate source.
  • Rate limiting or repeated failed searches: back off, space out subsequent browser-search calls, and note the limitation for the next run.
  • A key page has changed layout or moved: fall back to browser-search to locate the current URL before retrying browser-navigate.

Done when

  • A single dossier file exists (saved via write-file) containing populated Firmographics, Technology, and Recent Triggers sections with cited sources.
  • Any inaccessible or unverifiable data points are explicitly flagged in the file rather than omitted silently.
  • The dossier is current enough to support immediate outreach personalization (most triggers dated within recent months where available).
