Mentions Report

Summarize recent brand mentions and engagement across social and news channels to identify opportunities and address sentiment shifts.

Inputs

  • source_platforms — {twitter, linkedin, news, reddit, forums, reviews}; which channels to monitor
  • brand_name — {company name or handle}; what brand to track
  • time_period — {last_week, last_month, last_quarter}; lookback window; default last_week
  • sentiment_filter — {all, positive, negative, neutral}; which sentiment classes to include; default all
  • engagement_threshold — {1, 10, 50, 100}; minimum likes/shares/replies to surface; default 10

Steps

  1. Search for recent mentions of {brand_name} across {source_platforms} within the past {time_period}.
  2. Fetch the full context and engagement metrics for top-ranked mentions to assess reach and authenticity.
  3. Classify each mention by sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) and engagement type (direct mention, quote, reply, review).
  4. Filter by {sentiment_filter} and {engagement_threshold}, retaining only material mentions.
  5. Extract key themes, topics, and concerns across all mentions; note any emerging patterns.
  6. Identify influencers or high-follower accounts driving amplification; flag controversial or high-visibility criticism.
  7. Format and deliver as a structured report with source link, timestamp, author, engagement count, and summary for each mention.

Constraints

  • Surface public mentions only; respect all platform terms of service.
  • Flag unverified claims, competitor manipulation, or spam in results; do not report without context.

Done when: You have a dated, sortable summary of recent mentions with sentiment, reach, and actionable context for each entry.
